We would like to
welcome you to the website of South County Professional Fire Fighters
Association, established 2008. The South County Professional Fire
Fighters Association represents the line personnel of Montgomery County
Emergency Service District #8 / South Montgomery County Fire Department.
We are located in Montgomery County just south of The Woodlands, TX.
The South Montgomery
County Fire Department is made up of 34 personnel. 18 full-timers,
which includes 15 full-time firefighters and 3 Captains. Also working 16
part-time firefighters, divided into three shifts, working a nine day rotation. This means we
work 24 on/24 off. We work this schedule for 3 shifts then we're off for
4 days straight and the cycle starts over. We are staffed 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The South Montgomery County Fire
Department responds to Fire and Medical calls with in our response area.
The
administration is comprised of a Fire Chief, Assistant
Chief, Deputy Chief and Administrative Assistant. The Fire
Chief works from 8am to 5pm Monday - Friday.
The department has 13 apparatus and support vehicles. 3 Engines, 1
Ladder Truck, 1 Tanker, 3 Booster and 2 Chief's Trucks, 1
staff support truck and 1 puppet trailer for Fire Prevention,
operating out of 3 stations. The Department averages 2400 calls a
year, protecting the lives and property of an estimated 51,000 residents
as well as scores of commuters and business owners. |
